Captivated by the ocean from a young age, Matthew Hart started surfing the many different breaks on the Bluff in Durban at the age of 9.
Paddling out on his own from a young age soon made him realise that surfing was in his life path and he spent many a day, down on the beach pushing himself to surf harder and better all the time.
As he grew up, Matthew Hart always knew that surfing would be a part of his life plan, and as time went by, he knew that some day he wanted to pass his vast knowledge of the sport on to other people and teach others how to surf.
With 34 years of surfing experience under his belt, in 2015, he set up Living the Dream Surf School, along with his partner Kim on Durban’s beautiful beach front, teaching people how to surf in perfect beginner conditions in the surf city of South Africa’s perfect waves. He loves what he does and it shows in his teaching methods. Matthew is a qualified surf instructor has achieved his SSA Level 1 Surfing Instructor Certificate, is in possession of a Lifeguard Award and has a Rescue Certificate.
